    St. John’s College and St. John’s Hospital with its legacy of serving the region and the nation, and its connection as an entity of the Hospital Sisters Health System is a natural home for scholars.
    St. John’s Center for Learning and Innovation was formed to create a home for scholars within the St. John’s family of health professionals, the Hospital Sisters Health System and health professionals who share mutual interests for research, education, health care services and evaluation of the effectiveness of processes important within healthcare education and delivery.
    The Center began as a collaborative initiative among leader representatives from St. John’s Health Sciences Library and Educational Technology Department, St. John’s College, Departments of Nursing and Continuing Education, St. John’s Hospital, Department of Nursing and Nursing Education These leaders engaged in education envisioned expanding their separate roles to create the environment and support for scholarly activities that would include and move beyond educational opportunities, positive learning environments and encouraging innovation in the health sciences to engage scholars with research and innovative best practices. The Center is conceptualized as an umbrella that encompasses history and recognition of excellence.
