Alumni Board Member Spotlight
Becci Hansen ('14)
Becci recently joined the Alumni Board as Vice President in the Fall of 2016. Prior to graduation, Becci worked as a cardiovascular tech in the Cath Lab at HSHS St. John’s Hospital with Prairie Heart Institute where she transitioned in to a nursing role upon passing boards.  She was appointed co-chair of the Unit Council for her department and is active with the hospital’s Shared Governance; working diligently to review processes and improve quality care and improve patient experiences.  She has also joined the Susan G. Komen Race for a Cure in Springfield as the Volunteer Coordinator and looks forward to another successful race campaign this year.

Most recently, Becci has started the journey to become a nurse practitioner at Maryville University with an anticipated completion date of August 2019.  She would like to keep an open mind with her practice, but she feels at home with adult cardiac care.

Becci recently moved to Springfield from Franklin.  She lives near Lincoln Park with her husband, teenage son, and two Chihuahuas.  When not in school, Becci enjoys crocheting, reading, community service projects, and being a LuLaRoe retailer.

The time spent at St. John’s College prepared Becci for a successful career as a registered nurse and leader in the profession.  The fundamentals of her education received from the faculty and staff at the College have proven instrumental in paving the way to Becci’s completion of an Advanced Practice Nursing degree.  She feels blessed to have been a part of such a compassionate and nurturing environment to allow her to grow in spirit and knowledge.  Becci is excited to serve the Alumni Board and current students and enjoys sharing her passion for the profession of nursing with everyone.
